India Earnings Season: Bring back that icecream, L&T and Cairn follow HUL to beat big estimates

Parent companies of Cairn (Vedanta is still in process of transferring onership to Sterlite and sesa Goa) an dHindutan Unilever would be happy they invested in Asia at the right time. The India consumption story yielded big dividends in the June quarteer seemingly as HUL added back 160 basis points (of sales ) to its dwindled advertising budget and improved AMrgins 180 bp to meet and grow th e20 SAles 30 profits mark.  Foods and Beverages divisions grew Sales bu tthe INR 1000 Crores in revenue caught most of its profits from the 60% sales of beverages in the mix while Sales at Personal Products and Soaps and Detergents also grew more than 20% each to INR1247 Crores and INR3163 Crores EBIT at F&B added INR 950Crores and INR385 crores from Soaps and  Detergents. Personal products reported a line profit of INR471Crores

Cairn jumped profits to INR38 B or 40% over last year with Foresx gains on the rupee’s fall adding nearly a quarter of the profits at INR8.66 B. Revenues made the 20% sales increase mark at INR44Bln excl other income of nearly INR 1B Cess rose three times to INR 6.5 B

L&T earlier heped the index find its bottom after it missed EBITDA margin estimates but grew Sales 26% to INR119 Bln and profits beat estimates by 42% to INR8.64B Even ith ne orders of INR196B it may no longer improve its EBITDA margin, a 280 basis loer at 9.1% down 25% in a year
